<p>An interesting time to start a <a href="http://www.newyorkreviewofideas.com/" target="_blank">magazine on ideas</a>.  But in case everything else out there has been read and you want something different, check this out.</p>
<p>Looking at the actions of Robert McNamara from the perspective of one of the “whiz kids” that <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5260af24-70a1-11de-9717-00144feabdc0.html" target="_blank">managed by numbers</a>.</p>
<p>Why <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5192dade-6d6a-11de-8b19-00144feabdc0.html" target="_blank">Charlie Munger’s</a> happy at his place in the background.</p>
<p>This is all over the place. Morgan Stanley pushes a <a href="http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/035e83fe-6f18-11de-9109-00144feabdc0.html?ftcamp=rss" target="_blank">report on new media</a>, written by a 15-year-old intern.  The web goes nuts.  I didn’t even know they have 15-year-old interns there.</p>
<p>Should you need more ways to <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/arts/critics/books/2009/07/20/090720crbo_books_kolbert?currentPage=all" target="_blank">intellectualize why we are fat</a>, here’s one more idea.</p>
<p>The closest “law” you can get in international relations is the idea that democracies do not fight each other. This has been the driver behind much of liberal democratic initiatives in the last few decades. So this is <a href="http://freakonomics.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/13/war-is-over/" target="_blank">hardly that surprising</a>.</p>
